Sewage & flood cleanup

A sewage backup or a flood fills a property with category-three water, which is heavy with bacteria. We extract it, strip out what cannot be saved and dry the building properly.

When a drain backs up or a flood comes through, the water that ends up in a property is not just dirty, it is a health hazard. Category-three water carries bacteria, viruses and parasites, and left alone it soaks into plaster, chipboard and cavity insulation and starts to grow mould within a day or two. Speed and proper decontamination both matter.

We respond across Rochdale and Greater Manchester at any hour, for homes, businesses and landlords alike.

Why a sewage backup is a decontamination job

Mopping up standing water does nothing about the contamination it leaves behind. The bacterial load in a category-three flood means every surface it has touched needs disinfecting, and any porous material it has soaked into, carpet, underlay, plasterboard and insulation, usually has to come out because it cannot be cleaned to a safe standard. Getting this wrong leaves a lingering smell and a health risk that surfaces again weeks later.

What we do, in order

We move quickly, because the longer the water sits the more damage it does and the more has to be replaced. Our aim is to limit what you lose and return the property to a safe, dry, usable state.

  • Pump out and extract the standing water
  • Strip out saturated flooring, plaster and insulation that cannot be saved
  • Clean and disinfect every affected surface
  • Dry the structure with commercial dehumidifiers and air movers, and monitor it until it is genuinely dry

Local drainage, insurance and waste

Parts of Rochdale and Greater Manchester sit low along the Roch, the Irk and the older mixed drainage that serves Victorian terraces, and these are the properties most prone to a backup after heavy rain. Whatever the cause, we treat the contaminated material as waste and remove it through a licensed carrier. Flood and sewage damage is very often an insurance matter, and we can document the work and deal with your insurer.

How we handle it

Four steps, from your first call to a property that is safe to use again.

  1. 01

    Get in touch fast

Request a callback any hour. With water damage, the sooner we are there the less is lost.

  2. 02

    Assess and make safe

We assess the contamination and the electrics, agree the work and a price, and make the area safe.

  3. 03

    Extract, strip and disinfect

We pump out the water, remove what cannot be saved and decontaminate every affected surface.

  4. 04

    Dry and verify

We dry the structure with commercial equipment and monitor it until readings confirm the property is dry and safe.

Sewage & flood: your questions

If your question is not here, request a callback and we will talk it through, calmly.

Can I just clean up a sewage flood myself?

It is not safe to. Category-three water carries bacteria and viruses, and contaminated porous materials need removing rather than cleaning. Proper extraction, decontamination and drying by an equipped team is the safe way to deal with it.

How fast can you get to me?

We are here 24 hours a day and treat water damage as urgent, because it worsens by the hour. Across Rochdale and the nearer parts of Greater Manchester we can often attend within the hour, and same day further out.

Is flood and sewage damage covered by insurance?

Usually, yes. Escape of water and flooding are common insurance claims. We document the cause and the work with photographs and a written report, and we can deal with your insurer directly.
